YEAH !! We Passed the Environmentally Sensitive Lands (& Parks)

It was great that just about 80% of those that voted were in favor of the two ballot initiatives. The sad part is that only about 11% of those registered to vote made it to the polls. I have not seen city vs. county resident break outs. There were many excellent reasons to support this money for important public lands.....

Low turnout allows special interests to get their way -- which was fine this week as I consider myself a special interest -- which is part of the selfish reason I supported this initiative. I am a swamp hiker so having the county buy more land is a good thing for me.

Goes to show that if you have a hard working group with a pretty good idea they can get good things done. Special interests are not just for "bad guys"
