I went to the City Commission meeting last night and was very pleased to see Mayor Fred Atkins awarding Jenice Davis a special Mayor's Award.

Ms. Davis has just reached 90 years old .... she was a long time fixture at every City Commission meeting and an original member of the Coalition of City Neighborhoods. According to the Mayor she also was good at keeping the youth of his age "in line" and was always a very involved person in community life. Thanks to Jennifer for the picture = I hear there as a surprise dinner after the award.
I was also glad to see the City Commission appropriate some money to help Arlington Park get some new playground equipment.
There was also a good presentation on the: Innovation41 Conceptual Plan - by Dr. Laurey Stryker, Chief Executive Officer/Vice President, USF Sarasota-Manatee
