One way to develop a "cool" city

Civic leader in Jackson Michigan had a great idea on how to get help...

Collegiate planners submit 'cool' plans

The blue prints are in and Jackson may soon learn what it takes to become a "cool city."

It might take 20 years and untold dollars to get there, of course, but at least the plans are here.

Enticed by a $25,000 grand prize offered by the Greater Jackson Chamber of Commerce, seven collegiate schools of urban planning from California to Massachusetts have submitted proposals for transforming the downtown community.

The Cool Cities project is aimed at developing a vibrant, growing downtown.

"I knew we would get some fresh perspective," said chamber President Susan Milhoan. "I'm overwhelmed by the quality of the proposals."

The more good ideas that are in the "mix" the more likely "cool" things happen. Another reason for everyone to participate in civic discussions... the internet makes it easy ...

I love food

I know I would stop by... I don't understand raw Pizza / Bagels but I would give it a try..

another idea to make Sarasota a cooler place

We need a raw foods restaurant/cafe here. No question about it!
NYC has five. The SF bay area has many. There are many raw foodists in our area and it's time we had a place to showcase this fabulous cuisine, a cuisine that is delicious and good for you! We're talking about Coconut Noodle Pad Thai, Coconut ice cream, Pizza, and much much more. Anything you like, actually. Pancakes. NYC's Quintessence, a premiere raw restaurant with two locations, is introducing a raw bagel and cream cheese to its (raw vegan) brunch menu.

Feel free to e-mail me if you'd like to talk about this!
