looking for sarasota advice

hi joe, stumbled along your blog and thought i could get your thoughts . i reside in middletown, nj and looking to move my family to sarasota. i have 2 small children and am 37 years old. im retired from the nypd and looking in the price range of 300 to 400k. i was down in the area in august and fell in love with it. after doing research i have narrowed my areas to south sarasota or osprey. my favorite spots are turtle rock in palmer ranch and rivendell in osprey. from your local knowledge are these the best areas. our criteria is a family oriented community thats safe with good schools.

pictures and new question

The pictures are beautiful. I know why we live in the beautiful state of Florida! New question.....There is a most unusual home at Honore & Proctor. Large pink house that I have been watching over the months being restored. However I have searched endlessly and cannot find any history on it. Can anyone help me with this mystery?? Worth a picture on your blog!!! Thanks.
