Ringling School of Art & Design / New College / USF

May 5th 244 Students graduated from Ringling School of Art & Design their majors included computer animation, fine arts, graphic & interactive communications, illustration and interior design.
Somewhat over 100 New College students will graduate (I couldn't find the exact number on the web site) on May 19th. These are all very smart talented kids..
USF Sarasota-Manatee graduated nearly 300 students on May 5th. Twenty two with MBA's
How many of these graduates will stay in our area? What do we lose when these New College / Ringling "creatives" leave Sarasota ... how much richer would we be if all of those that wanted to could find opportunities in Sarasota....
What can we do to keep more of them here?

New College in the community
I graduated from New College in 1982. It is very exciting to see how many people from that era are now influential citizens in this community. In recent times, employers like SCOPE have also been keeping graduates local.
In 20 more years, I hope we have plenty of New College, USF Sarasota and Ringling students in Sarasota government and buisnesses.
