Sarasota Green Connection, Inc. invites you to attend the next Green World Café event on January 4th, 2007 from 7-9pm in the Whole Foods Lifestyle Center. Nonviolent Communication Practitioner, Mercedes Frace, will join us to discuss Sustainable Relationships - An Introduction to Nonviolent Communication.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a profound language process that is important for future/sustainable communities. NVC is aligned with many principles found in The Earth Charter, including points such as compassion, equality, integrity, sustainability & peace. Also called Compassionate Communication, NVC is the intention to open ourselves to others without fear, to listen without judgment, speak with honesty and love. Consciousness is at the core of NVC as it honors all human needs and shifts our paradigm to power-with relationships.

Mercedes Frace, NVC Practitioner, is a member of the Suncoast Network for Compassionate Communication (http://www.nvcsarasota.com). She is a registered Trainer Candidate with the Global Center for Nonviolent Communication (http://www.cnvc.org) and has trained with NVC founder, Dr. Marshall Rosenberg.

If you are interested in learning more about NVC, please join us on January 4th. We hope you will be able to attend this informative presentation this first Thursday of January!

All of the Sarasota Green World Café monthly events feature an SGC Approved Business Owner or other Individual committed to a future that works for all. We join to learn and celebrate the Earth Charter. Each event has a featured speaker and then an interactive conversation takes place that focuses on one of the Earth Charter principles. For more info, please visit (http://www.earthcharter.org).

These monthly events are brought to you by Sarasota Green Connection, Inc. The Green World Café is held the first Thursday of every month from 7pm to 9 pm at the Whole Foods Market's Whole Lifestyle Center. Only entrance to the Whole Lifestyle Center is on the corner of 1st Street and Lemon. The Green World Café is free and open to the public.

Come hear what they have to say. They will be making important decisions for us and spending our money .... and there are several big ticket items coming up soon ... police station and baseball stadium to name two biggies..

Do you care about smart growth - (based on your definition or mine) I want downtown to continue to get better. I want more stuff going on to draw all segments of Sarasota downtown. I want it easy to get around Sarasota County (mass transit?) I want neighborhoods to thrive and (and lots more trees) have a good mix of housing options available.
