Who wants a job where you have 5 bosses that don't agree on what you should be doing? As an added bonus anything that goes wrong in the City will be your fault because you either did or didn't do the "right thing."

If that sounds good to you .. apply at Sarasota City Hall.
At least it pays pretty good.

I am sure there is someone that could be a great Sarasota City Manager. I am not sure they would be smart to want the job.

I think Mike McNees was a pretty good guy that did some notable things for the City. I am very happy with Whole Foods downtown. I was/am not in favor of the new sports stadium deal with the Reds but I am sure it was a tough deal to put together..

But especially I like Mike for his blog Sarasota City Manager he had the nerve to first start it and then keep it open to comments. His peers thought it was cool enough to give him an award for his communications prowess.

Mike is pretty employable so it is unlikely he will stay in Sarasota ... unless he gives up government and sticks with something fun like his acting career...

Mike -- Best of Luck to you - You probably did the right thing.
