You're invited to have fun and help military families at the same time!
The Mayor's Project for Veterans and Military Families along with Sunshine VFW Post 3233 are hosting "Steppin' Out for Our Soldiers" - - a U.S.O. style dance, with proceeds going to the National Guard Family Readiness Group, an organization which helps military families right here in Sarasota who are struggling financially. We have many local troops who are actively serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and now more are being deployed to help with Hurricane Katrina.
The Sarasota Big Band Jazz Ensemble will perform and so will Electric Myakka. There will be raffles with lots of prizes as well as beer and wine.
"Steppin Out for Our Soldiers" will be Saturday, October 1st from 6pm to 11pm at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, located at 801 North Tamiami Trail. Admission is $10 per person at the door.
