Sarasota Livin'

Smart City -- one of my favorite podcasts -- has a great show "Lessons from Canada"

Sarasota citizens that think about how our city should grow would be "Smart" to listen to Larry Beasley co-director of planning, and director of current planning in Vancouver.

They have a United Nations Award winning "Neighbourhood" Department with a mission statement:
"To lead, to provide and to facilitate integrated community-based service delivery."

Lots of neighborhood level "community vision" work

They seem to have a very cool web site.... lots of updated information on projects going on in the city - with awesome maps. You can view video of commission meetings on the site also
....hint hint hint... Sarasota (city and county) needs a big upgrade of the website...
