Sarasota Livin'

We had about 70 people show up for our meeting Tuesday night. Maybe the biggest crowd ever. There were two "major" topics being discussed.

First was the "School Ave MURT" which will be a multi-use trail that goes down the unpaved right-of-way south of the paved part of School Ave... south to Siesta Drive. It will be great. Yes some people came because they live right on the trail and were concerned about their privacy. This is to be expected. I understand their concerns but if all goes well I will really enjoy hiking / biking down to the shops on Siesta ... and then maybe to the beach.

Second big topic was a "pre-discussion" of the possibility of locating a cell phone tower in the north section of the actual Arlington Park -- near the tennis courts. Most everyone there was against this. The NA will not be taking an official position until after the official presentation by Nextel at the Waldemere Fire Station Thursday night at 5:30 ... I am sure lots of neighbors will be there.

I really hope that these "new" people continue to come to the association meetings...
