Sarasota Livin'

OK so I don't spend all of my time or thoughts in / on Sarasota. We have recently invested in a little dumpy house in a very cool small town in north Florida.

White Springs is 3 miles east of I-75 on the exit North of I-10 located on the Suwannee River. This is a historic structure in the downtown

The town has been the home of the Florida Folk Festival and is now becoming an eco-tourism center. There is lots of kayak / canoeing on the River. Lots of biking trails and hiking and camping. The Florida Trail goes right through the town. Big Shoals is about the biggest river rapids in Florida

The house we bought is on River St. the nicest street in town. Most of the homes are historic homes from the early 20th century. We got the only smaller run down home on the street.


It needs a lot of TLC but I enjoy doing "real" work and seeing something take shape (outside a computer).

The plan is to remove the plastic siding and clean up the orginal wood siding. The house also has hard wood floors. It will look really good in a few years!!
