kelly on the 4th of july

Going past my neighborhood... I went up through downtown and into Gillespie Park just because .... so I decide to ride by the park and see lots of cars and happen upon a 4th of July celebration...

It seems to have been sponsored by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and I got to hear Commissioner Kelly Kirschner giving a speech in Spanish (then in English). I also saw Mayor Palmer who I find is also a Spanish speaker ... I just barely speak English and some HTML, CSS, SQL and PHP ... with a few words of JAVA to my credit.... they are pretty handy in the right crowds...

Kelly commented on the need for immigration reform. I agree with him. We have lots of hard working people here ... they are here for economic reasons and have gone through real trauma to get and stay here to help (up for debate) our economy. There must be a fair solution for these people.

While I am on the political soap box .... I really think President Bush commuting the prison term of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was very lame. What kind of message is that
